Tea Reads: Grassroots Gardening

April 02, 2018 by Anna Wolfe in Tea Reads, Sustainability, Stories, Review, Travel

Without looking for it, I found Grass Roots Gardening by Donna Schaper among the "Botany" books. In contrast (to it's neighbors) this little green book seemed unassuming. It lacked the colorful illustrations, the tables of plants in their seasons, and smiling women in straw hats - yet it promised ritual, guiding wisdom, sustenance: sentiments that spoke to the tea drinker in me.

Epic Tea Time

February 05, 2018 by Anna Wolfe in Life Story, Stories, Tea, Tea-ware

I'm resolved to practice juggling everyday until I can perform epic tea time successfully. Someday I'd like to organize a whole traveling tea-circus, inspired by the great tea performers (that I can find on youtube).  I've compiled a list of inspiring epic tea feats for your viewing pleasure here:

Tea Reads: The Night Circus

July 01, 2017 by Anna Wolfe in Review, Stories, Tea Reads

The Night Circus is peppered with porcelain cups (and even a full tea ceremony at one point), which are more than set dressing to the author. Many carefully described and delicate tea cups were broken in service of character development. I was not surprised then to discover that Erin Morgenstern is in fact a tea lover.

Greek Mountain Tea

February 01, 2017 by Anna Wolfe in Tea, Stories, Travel

Tea makes my world go round because it comes from all around the world. Every cup is different depending on where it's grown. Because of this sensitivity, a plant like the Camillia Sinensis (tea) can be grown on two mountain tops, treated the exact same way from pluck to packaging, and still end up tasting distinctly different from each other in the cup. That's the Terroir, the taste of a place. This month I have for you the taste of two Greek mountain tops, courtesy of Katie O'Keefe.
